Tom Martin

Vice President of Finance & Accounting; Chief Financial Officer, Guanacaste Land Company

Tom Martin is the Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Revolution and Chief Financial Officer of Guanacaste Land Company. He joined the firm in 2011 and manages real estate development, project finance structuring, bank compliance, portfolio company valuation, and financial planning and analysis. Tom also serves on both the board of the Revolution Place’s Punta Cacique Costa Rica project and the board that oversees the Waldorf Astoria hotel under construction at Punta Cacique.

Prior to joining Revolution, Tom worked in audit and assurance with RSM McGladrey (now RSM). His clients included both public and private companies in various industries including, hospitality, education, government contractors, IT services, and employee benefit plans.

Tom graduated from James Madison University’s College of Business with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

  1. Something you admire about entrepreneurs. No job is too big, no job is too small. Entrepreneurs wear whatever hat is necessary to accomplish the goals of their business. And better still, the greatest entrepreneurs figure out how to assemble the right team so they can solve progressively more challenging problems.
  2. What was your first job? My brother and I started a landscaping business when we were about 12. We started in our neighborhood with shovels in the snow, rakes in the fall, our family push mower, and rock-bottom prices. Within a year or two we bought a 48-inch deck Exmark mower, string trimmer, and handheld leaf blower.
  3. Road trip destination on your bucket list? As many of the American national parks as I can.
