Associate General Counsel; General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, Rise of the Rest

Sapna is Associate General Counsel at Revolution and General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer at Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund. She joined the firm in 2014.

Before joining Revolution, Sapna was Deputy General Counsel of LivingSocial, Inc. from 2010 to 2014 with a focus on M&A and international operations. Prior to her tenure at LivingSocial, Sapna was Assistant General Counsel for Extend Health, Inc., operator of the country’s largest private Medicare insurance exchange. Prior to Extend Health, Sapna practiced in the corporate department of Latham & Watkins LLP in the Washington, D.C. office, where she handled a wide variety of corporate matters, including debt and equity offerings (public and private), M&A, venture capital, general securities, and fund formation.

Sapna received her B.A. from the University of Texas, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School. Sapna was born and raised in Texas.

  1. Road trip destination on your bucket list? It’s not very original, but I’d love to drive Route 66 (windows down, hair flying wild) and do the Grand Canyon.  But I’ll take glamping over camping, thank you very much.  
  2. What's something you admire about entrepreneurs? Where I only see risks and obstacles, they see opportunity – I wish I could change the chemistry of my brain to think that way, but I guess I’m a lawyer for a reason…
  3. Online, you'll find me… Playing Sudoku, reading long form articles and scouring secondhand auction sites for art and homewares (taking a break from doom scrolling for the foreseeable future).
  4. Offline, you'll find me… Taking my chocolate lab for long walks, smelling flowers, shopping at farmers’ markets, seeing art, eating and drinking my way through town…but, more likely, at a soccer game, piano recital, riding lesson, play date, you get the point.
