Revolution Growth Welcomes Four New Vice Presidents

Ashley Larson, Chris Hughes and Kristin Gunther Join Revolution Growth; Meredith Balenske Promoted

Washington, D.C.—December 1, 2015—Today, Revolution Growth, the D.C.-based VC firm co-founded by Steve Case, Ted Leonsis and Donn Davis, announced that it is welcoming four new vice presidents, including the addition of finance and private equity industry veterans Kristin Gunther, Ashley Larson and Chris Hughes. In addition, Meredith Balenske has been promoted to vice president of communications.

Kristin Gunther joins the firm from Perseus LLC, most recently as vice president, where she focused on working with the portfolio companies and their management teams on growth strategies, operating finance matters, and exit planning. She began her career as an investment banking analyst at Rothschild Inc. in New York City and then worked as a research associate at CRT Capital Group in Stamford, CT. Kristin received a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University, and earned her MBA from University of Virginia Darden School of Business where she was a Jefferson Scholar.

Ashley Larson joins Revolution Growth from ABS Capital Partners where she was a senior associate. Earlier in her career, Ashley was an associate at Egis Capital Partners; led new business and incubation at Red Ventures, a global online marketing services firm; and served as an investment banking analyst at Wachovia Securities. Ashley earned an MBA at Columbia Business School and a BA in Economics & English from Wake Forest University.

Chris Hughes joins the firm from the Boston Consulting Group where he was a project leader in the Consumer and Retail practice. His client work focused on a variety of topics including growth strategy, M&A advisory, and sales and marketing effectiveness. He began his career as an analyst in the Equity Capital Markets division of Lazard Freres & Co in New York City. Chris received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and also studied at University College in London.

Meredith Balenske joined Revolution in 2014 as director of communications. Prior to joining Revolution, Meredith was a vice president at FleishmanHillard in its Corporate Communications and Technology practices, and the deputy director of communications at Bloomberg LP in Washington, D.C.

Gunther and Larson will join the firm effective November 30, 2015 and Hughes will join on January 11, 2016. All are based in Revolution Growth’s Washington, D.C. offices.
