Revolution Growth Adds New Partner Todd Klein, Promotes Steve Murray to Managing Partner, Names Evan Morgan Special Partner

Continues to Expand Team Following Launch of $525 Million Growth Fund in 2016

Washington, D.C. – July 12, 2017 – Today Revolution Growth, Revolution’s growth-stage investment fund launched by Steve Case, Ted Leonsis, and Donn Davis, announced further expansion of its team following the closing of its $525 million Revolution Growth III fund last year. The changes include the addition of a new Partner, Todd Klein; the promotion of Steve Murray to Managing Partner and Evan Morgan to Special Partner; and the addition of Luisa Sucre as Analyst.

New Partner: Todd Klein

During his 20 year career, Klein has been involved in financing, funding, and building more than 150 venture and growth stage companies with an emphasis on technology, media, consumer, education, and healthcare. He has served on the boards of more than 30 companies and is currently on the boards of Anonymous Content, China Senior Care, and Launchpad Central. He is also a board observer at existing Revolution Growth investments CustomInk, Optoro, Echo360, and Cava.

“Todd’s experience identifying, investing, and building transformative companies across a number of sectors will be invaluable as we work with our existing portfolio companies and look to make new investments in businesses that are transforming their sectors,” said Steve Case, Chairman and CEO of Revolution and co-founder of Revolution Growth.

“Steve, Ted, and Donn have established the premier platform for entrepreneurs in Washington,” said Klein, “and I am thrilled to work with the entire Revolution Growth team to build upon that success.”

In addition to being an experienced investor and business builder, Klein is a frequent speaker on capital formation and entrepreneurship and has appeared on Fox Business and CNN. He also published two books on entrepreneurship, including Built for Change:  Essential Traits of Transformative Companies. He currently serves on the board and executive committee of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA).  He received a BBA from the University of Texas and an MBA from Harvard University.

New Roles: Steve Murray and Evan Morgan

Steve Murray, who joined Revolution Growth in January 2016 as a Partner, is taking on broader responsibilities, assuming the role of Managing Partner. Murray will now manage the investment team and the operations of Revolution Growth. He also will join Case, Leonsis, and Davis as the fourth member of Revolution Growth’s Investment Committee.

Prior to Revolution, Murray spent 20 years at Softbank Capital, where he served as a partner and managing director, coordinating the operations of the team’s venture activities across multiple funds, geographies and investment agendas. Steve has served on the boards of a wide range of both public and private companies, and has extensive experience in fundraising, M&A, operations, and all levels of corporate governance.

Revolution also announced that Evan Morgan, the first hire made by Case, Leonsis, and Davis when they co-founded Revolution Growth, will become a Special Partner, continuing to oversee Revolution’s investments in some of the country’s most dynamic growth firms, including Sweetgreen, KrolLDiscovery, and Sportradar.

“We’re delighted that Steve is taking on this expanded role as Managing Partner,” said Case.  “He’s done a fabulous job since joining us eighteen months ago, and is the perfect person to lead the next phase of Revolution Growth.  We’re also pleased to continue our relationship with Evan, as he becomes a Special Partner.”

Building the Team: Luisa Sucre

Finally, Analyst Luisa Sucre joins the firm from GCM Grosvenor and will support the Revolution Growth team in evaluating potential investments.  Sucre, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, previously spent time at Endeavor and the Inter-American Development Bank.
