Virginia-Based CustomInk Named Top Workplace by FORTUNE

Congratulations are in order for Revolution Growth portfolio company CustomInk, who was named to FORTUNE magazine’s Top Retail Workplaces! Thanks to their emphasis on keeping their 1,113 employees healthy and happy on the job, they are the only Washington, D.C.-area company to make the list. This isn’t the first time CustomInk has scored big on employee satisfaction; they were recognized in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 in Great Place to Work Rankings: Best Medium Workplaces.

The custom t-shirt and apparel company has game rooms and fitness centers equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, fitness balls, yoga mats and weights to help employees stay active. They also offer a benefits package that covers 99 percent of team members’ health insurance premiums and offer weekend bonuses to employees who volunteer to work in addition to overtime pay.

Our Revolution Growth fund invested $40 million in CustomInk in November 2013 and Ted Leonsis serves on the company’s board. CustomInk is at a sweet spot of community, creativity, social commerce, and technology. They continue to revolutionize in their category and are deeply dedicated to their employees and customers. The company has already experienced tremendous growth and has produced over 50 million custom t-shirts since launch.

Over the last year, CustomInk was a finalist for the 2014 Corporate Growth Awards by The National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and a 2014 Washington Post Top Workplace in D.C.

The Revolution team applauds CustomInk for their innovative approach to keep their employees and happy! Check out what other companies made the list and what CustomInk employees said about their company.
