OrderUp CEO Chris Jeffery Named ‘40 Under 40 CEO’ by the Baltimore Business Journal

Another exciting development for one of our newest Revolution Ventures investments OrderUp!

Congratulation to Chris Jeffery, the co-founder and CEO of the online food ordering and delivery company, who was named a ‘40 Under 40 CEO’ by the Baltimore Business Journal in 2014. OrderUp was previously recognized by the Journal as a ‘2014 Best Place to Work.’

Over the last six months, the company has grown quickly and has seen an increase from 10,000 weekly orders to 20,000 weekly orders that are fulfilled by its driver partners, which is only a portion of its total weekly transaction volume. The company also added several new staff members including the former AOL Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Michael Smith. Smith will serve as Vice President of Corporate and Business Development for the rising startup and has already overseen a strategic acquisition of Columbia, Missouri-based My Dinner Taxi through OrderUp’s local affiliate.

Earlier this fall OrderUp acqui-hired Back Forty, a Baltimore-based Rails, iOS, and interface design consultancy, further adding to the technical team depth. The two Back Forty co-founders, Flip Sasser and Ed Schmalze and their staff joined the OrderUp team.

The company now operates their on-demand food ordering and delivery service in 37 markets and 22 states.
